
Course Desciption: This course will cover the process of painting a still life in oil from graphite drawing to finished painting that employs a simple model of light and how it affects the hue, value and chroma of a surface. Topics covered include: composing a still life, drawing utilizing 2D and 3D shape/form mapping, transferring a drawing to canvas, relating values using a small poster study, èbauche (under-painting) technique, basic color theory and palette organization. Class is open to all levels of experience.
