Teen Summer Customized Program
If your teen’s schedule is all over the place, this option is for you! We work with your schedule and interests to create a personalized program within our regularly scheduled classes. No commitment to a full season required! You pay á-la-carte so it is entirely up to you to create the summer experience you dream of! $50 per 3-hour class. Additional materials fee may be available if you want to use studio supplies.

Independent Projects:
Creative Projects, Still Life, or Master Copy

Students work on observational drawing or painting, or they may design a creative project using photo references or a tablet. Creative works must be representational (not abstract), and in traditional drawing and painting media.
Mondays 3 – 6pm
Applied Art History & Independent Projects:

There is an art history lecture component to this course. Students may choose to participate in the lecture, or they may opt to work on their assignment instead. Students work on observational drawing or painting, or they may design a creative project using photo references or a tablet. Creative works must be representational (not abstract), and in traditional drawing and painting media.

Dynamic Drawing & Painting

Figure drawing and painting is an essential skill for an artist to learn. Mature teens have the opportunity to draw from the nude life model. Age 15+ only, with parental permission. Students attending this session must work from the model; no other projects are allowed during this class.
Wednesdays 10am – 1 or 2pm

This course focuses on the alla prima technique, which is a quick method of working. Students enrolled in the full summer course are creating a new painting or drawing every week, which teens may choose to do. There is a different model each week. Teens may continue with independent, observational projects or participate with the model.

Alla Prima Oil Painting

This course focuses on the alla prima technique, which is a quick method of working. Students enrolled in the full summer course are spending a week or two to complete small still life paintings, and we encourage teens to do so as well. However, teens may choose to continue independent projects that they have begun in other classes.
